Cannon Alchemy

Alchemy Name: Cannon Alchemy
Dependant or Independant: Dependant
Description: Cannon Alchemy is a deceptively simple methodology of the alchemical process which entails the use of a similarly deceptively simple tool, custom designed himself. Through the use of a specially designed weapon, which has the uncanny resemblance to a revolver handgun, albeit rather large, he uses specially designed cylinders of various metal, usually iron although the actual material itself doesn't matter, and he breaks off rods of it at a time and fires them at the same time as shaping them in order to launch projectiles with immense heft in comparison to normal bullets. The result is single shots from this 'gun' which can blow through walls, tanks, and most certainly people.

How this is achieved is actually inherent in the design of the weapon itself. By removing the hammer and making the usual inner workings more minimalistic since all that needs to happen is the revolver clip revolves, he has crafted a weapon of metal which forgoes complexity of guns and has absolutely no chance of failing in its job, and has also made it a capable weapon for other alchemists should they choose to practice a little bit. By carving a tiny alchemical circle into the area where the hammer would usually be (design as seen above), one fires the 'gun' by simply setting any finger (generally the thumb of the hand holding the gun) on the circle and activating the alchemical process. In doing this, he has made it so that non-alchemists cannot hope to use the weapon, and with some practice any alchemist could perfectly use this weapon. But they'll never be as specialized as he is.

Firing highly heft bolts of metals isn't all this is about, the entirety of the gun can be used as a weapon in his hands. While most people would focus on the ammunition source, that being the metal cylinders mentioned above, few recognize that the whole weapon is made of metal. By altering the shape of the cannon, he can easily convert what was once a ranged weapon, into a deadly sword or a tool he may happen to need. That is because in the end, Cannon Alchemy is about using metal and the cannon as a weapon for combat purposes. The only real constant in the weapon is that it retains the pistol grip when it transforms so that he can transmute his Cannon and metals in contact with it with as subtle a gesture as moving his thumb.

He is known for easily disarming foes simply by turning all the metal parts of their weapon into extra ammunition for himself in a swift motion, and is somewhat renown for his exploits of bypassing metal armor with ease. The final trick up his sleeve is the fact that his Alchemy (yet again) about the manipulation of metals, so when someone has finally managed to rid him of that annoying cannon he's so proud of, he is more than capable of transmuting another on out of local materials. He has the weapon's schematics memorized to the point that he can make one of any size from many amount of metal and use it proficiently. He can also alter the shape so that he can fire bigger, thinner, or otherwise differently shaped projectiles, for purposes ranging from conserving ammo, to taking out gigantic structures.

Strengths:

  1. Lay Down Thy Arms: This method of alchemy actually focuses strongly on disarming foes of their weapons and using the metal from those weapons against them and their allies.
  2. Ranged: Cannon Alchemy is inherently long-ranged, albeit in a straight line.
  3. Shockingly Well Armed: He can convert metal and his cannon into a shockingly wide array of weaponry ranging from swords and blades to other kinds of guns. In a contest of who is better armed, he's pretty well off.
  4. Freeformity: It's early-tier things, which are important to the Alchemy's style, have little to no cooldown, which makes this a very freeform style of alchemy.

Weakness:

  1. How Do Magnets Work: A strong enough magnetic field will make his alchemy rather useless since he manipulates metal. Metal is usually magnetic, so this constitutes a viable crippling problem for him.
  2. No Metal? Crap...: There is no better way to screw Winter over than to just remove all metal from the area.
  3. Pure Shittiness: This alchemy uses the impurities inherent metal to manipulate it. Totally pure metals, such as Platinum are out of his range. On the flip side, alloys are all fucked.
  4. Shocking, Isn't It?: This alchemy has it so the user is almost always in contact with a lightning rod. Do the math for that one, hmm?
  5. Hothothothothot!!!: Metal is conductive, so hot things like lava and fire may cause his cannon to become more a hindrance than a help. If left out in the sun too long he has to wait for the cannon to cool off.

Abilities:

  • Metal Mastery: He can manipulate any solid metal that has impurities with his alchemy, making just about any metal item short of ridiculously expensive ones made of platinum viable material for his alchemy. Thusly his Alchemy Trumps most other forms of Metal Alchemy.
  • Guns Mastery: This alchemy requires if nothing else, precision and accuracy. While he's no expert in 'firearms' themselves, he is fairly handy with a gun if given one. Not quite on par with a normal who's specialized skillset revolves around firearms, but better than another state alchemist would be.

SPELLS
(TBA)

Tier 1:
Blade:
Skill Name: Blade
Tier: 1
Type: Utility
Element: Metal
Effects: Pressing his thumb against the circle on the cannon, or transmuting metal with new circle, he creates a sword of variable shape, although the length is 3 feet in length on average, give or take an inch for curvature or lack thereof. This blade bears a pistol grip identical to the one on his cannon, complete with the alchemy circle engraved where the hammer would be on a gun. In the case it's made from his Cannon Medium it is simply as durable as the medium, but otherwise it can handle up to 3 instances of tier 1 damage and nothing more.
Duration: Lasts until broken or transmuted
Cooldown: 0 posts

Disarm:
Skill Name: Disarm
Tier: 1
Type: Offensive
Element: Metal (?)
Effects: A very basic technique which involves having some amount of metal with his Alchemy Circle upon it come into contact with other metal. By activating the circle he can shape the metal it is on as well as the metal it is in contact with, forming other shapes with the metal in such a way as to remove the metal from the item it is touching. In practice it would appear that he blocks or attacks, then the metal blade of the sword he clashes with warps into and around his length of metal with the stock alchemical transmutation sparks flowing through both, and now the opponent is holding an empty  hilt. This spell wouldn't work on weapons not made of metal, or weapons made of metal lacking any impurities such as Platinum.

Lance:
Skill Name: Lance
Tier: 1
Type: Utility
Element: Metal
Effects: Usually requiring more than the metal present in his cannon, he transmutes metal (and often his cannon) into the shape of a pointy hand-held lance. This lance, while basically just a pointy pole, still has a curvy part which is the pistol grip of the cannon, complete with the alchemical circle. It is wielded with one hand, and is used for stabbing. The part that is the cannon (if present )is as durable as his cannon medium, while the rest can only withstand 3 instances of tier 1 damage and no more.
Duration: Lasts until broken or transmuted.
Cooldown: 0 posts

Ammo:
Skill Name: Ammo
Tier: 1
Type: Utility
Element: Metal
Effects: Often used in tandem with Disarm, he transmutes metal to warp it into the shape of a cylindrical block, sized for his cannon to use as ammo. It gives him another 6 shots (or more depending on the current gun shape/ amount of metal used) to work with once he loads it up into the cannon. This can also warp the metal into other shapes to suit his cannon using the forms of other guns, such as rectangular prisms to fit a rifle. This cannot warp metals with no impurities such as Platinum.

Shield:
Skill Name: Shield
Tier: 1
Type: Defensive
Element: Metal
Effects: Winter uses metal in contact with his weapon to form a dome-shaped shield before him, roughly 2 feet in diameter, which remains attached to his weapon. Upon contact with metal, this shield can be used to disarm the metal, warping it out of weaponized form, negating momentum, and attaching the metal to his shield, given that metal has impurities. This shield can tank up to 3 instances of tier 1 damage before busting.
Duration: Lasts until broken or transmuted
Cooldown: 1 post
Tier 2:
Big Bat:
Skill Name: Big Bat
Tier: 2
Type: Utility
Element: Metal
Effects: By transmuting metal into appropriate shape, often in tandem with his cannon, Winter creates a metal bat roughly the size of a childrens whiffle ball bat, except actually full. As one could imagine, it's quite a bit more hefty and durable than a sword, albeit it doesn't cut. It also maintains the pistol grip complete with alchemy circle, letting him transmute with it. The cannon portion is as durable as his cannon, but the rest can withstand 3 instances of tier 2 damage, or 6 instances of tier 1 damage.
Duration: Lasts until busted or transmuted
Cooldown: 1 Post

Armor Break:
Skill Name: Armor Break
Tier: 2
Type: Offensive
Element: Metal (?)
Effects: More of an advanced version of disarm, he basically applies the same tactic to metal armor. With a touch of the alchemy circle, the length of metal he is using warps the metal it is in contact with and any metal in contact with that metal off of and away from the foe, breaking their armor off of them. This metal can then be shaped for other purposes with other spells. This doesn't work on metal with no impurities, such as platinum.

Cooldown: 1 Post

Giga Drill:
Skill Name: Giga Drill
Tier: 2
Type: Utility
Element: Metal
Effects: By transmuting metal into the shape of a drill, he will now have a hand drill. It is roughly the size of his head, and is used by cranking the pistol grip handle complete with alchemy circle in a circle to spin the drill around, digging a hole through anything short of indestructible materials if given enough time. It's also quite durable, as durable as the cannon medium in some parts (give the cannon is in there) but the rest having being tough enough to withstand 3 instances of tier 2 damage and 6 instances of tier 1.
Duration: Lasts until busted or transmuted
Cooldown: 1 post

Cheese Grater:
Skill Name: Cheese Grater
Tier: 2
Type: Utility
Element: Metal
Effects: Once activated, this spell causes the cannon's shape to change so that the front is large and honeycombed having sufficient barrels to spead one clip of ammo into a shotgun storm of shots. This doesn't alter the damage of them all, making one shot have the equivalent stopping power of 6, though immeditately needing to reload is troublesome.
Duration: Lasts until transmuted
Cooldown: 1 post

Tower Shield:
Skill Name: Tower Shield
Tier: 2
Type: Defensive
Element: Metal
Effects: Basically just an advancement upon the Shield skill, Winter transmutes metal to form a dome of metal on the end of his cannon. This is more durable and takes up more space, having a 5 foot diameter and being capable of withstanding up to 3 tier 2 shots or 6 tier 1's. Asides that, the tower shield is now positioned further down the barrel of the cannon, allowing him to fire it off without hindrance.
Duration: Lasts until busted or transmuted
Cooldown: 3 posts
Tier 3:
Fire It Off:
Skill Name: Fire It Off
Tier: 3
Type: Offensive
Element: Metal
Effects: By activating the transmutation circle which is located on the part of the cannon where the hammer would be located, he transmutes the metal from the cylinder loaded into it so that a portion of it separates from the rest and launches out in a straight line through the barrel of the cannon. This speeds forward at high speeds, roughly 10 m/s and punches through up to a few inches of metals thanks to being a solid rod of metal with an effective range of 20 meters. With each activation of Fire It Off, he uses up unit of ammo (one cylinder) and gets to fire up to 6 shots before needing to reload. While Fire It Off is active, he may not use other spells to alter the shape of his cannon. He may reload prematurely, but doing so wastes the remainder of that ammo cylinder.
Duration: Lasts until all shots are fired, or reloaded prematurely
Cooldown: 1 post to reload the ammo

Rifle My Cannon:
Skill Name: Rifle My Cannon
Tier: 3
Type: Utility
Element: Metal (?)
Effects: Activating this will cause the barrel of the cannon to rifle, simply by transmuting its shape. This can only be done in forms that have a single barrel. While rifled, the cannon will fire with doubled piercing power, and range increased by another 20 meters. However, the speed of the projectile is halved. This may be activated while Fire It Off is active, unlike other shape-changing spells.
Duration: Until Transmuted (Must be reapplied with each form change)
Cooldown: 3 Posts

It's A Howitzer:
Skill Name: It's A Howitzer
Tier: 3
Type: Utility
Element: Metal (?)
Effects: By transmuting more metal onto the cannon, Winter extends the barrel several feet and gives it a bipod to sit upon. Once active, using Fire It Off will have all shots have increased penetration power, capable of plowing through a foot of steel with each shot, and capable of reaching ranges as if two ranks higher. That said, it loses mobility in exchange, and is inevitably very, very loud. The howitzer part can withstand 3 instances of tier 3 damage, 6 of tier 2, and 9 of tier 1 before breaking.
Duration: Until Broken or Transmuted
Cooldown: 3 Posts

Destroy The Metal:
Skill Name: Destroy the Metal
Tier: 3
Type: Offensive
Element: Metal
Effects: Using the same tactic as disarm, he completely disables an area of metal entirely, by causing it to oxidize and turn to rust. The rust spreads at a rate of 10 meters per post, smaller sections of metal dusting instantly. Rustproof metals such as copper are immune, as is any metal with no impurities such as Platinum.
Duration: Up to 2 posts, but can be instant or just 1
Cooldown: 3 Posts

Bite The Bullet:
Skill Name: Bite The Bullet
Tier: 3
Type: Defensive
Element: Metal
Effects: A defensive stance which he uses against ranged combatants who use guns. By placing his cannon or weapon in the way of bullets while constantly having the alchemy circle active via holding his thumb down onto it, he catches the bullets out of the air and adds them to his weapon's design. This is a very dangerous tactic to use with an actual weapon, so he more often uses a shield than anything else. In most cases though, 6 bullets is enough for him to make a cylinder for his cannon to use. Since metals without impurities actually make horrible bullets, he doesn't have to worry about that weakness really.
Duration: 3 posts
Cooldown: 5 posts
Tier 4:
Bullet Mode: Metal Barrage:
Skill Name: Bullet Mode: Metal Barrage
Tier: 4
Type: Utility
Element: Metal
Effects: By transmuting his cannon so that is has a thinner barrel, now roughly as wide as a dime (whereas it would normally be the size of a quarter), Winter enhances the ammo efficiency of the gun. While the damage of the shots is reduced by 15, he now has double the ammo capacity upon activating Fire It Off, and increased range (50 m) and penetration so that it goes through a foot of most metal without issue, thanks to the same force applied to a smaller point.
Duration: Until Transmuted
Cooldown: 5 posts

Bullet Mode: Shuriken Storm:
Skill Name: Bullet Mode: Shuriken Storm
Tier: 4
Type: Utility
Element: Metal
Effects: Winter transmutes his cannon and ammo so that the cannon now has a single horizontal slot instead of a circular barrel, and the design is altered so that the ammo is now loaded in vertically, and the ammo alters shape to a 4-pointed star prism. This form alters Fire It Off so that it fires shuriken as ammo. It now has 10 shots which do just as much damage, and they home slightly, by abusing aerodynamics. This bullet mode cannot be rifled via Rifle my Barrel.
Duration: Until Transmuted
Cooldown: 5 Posts

Silver Canister: Iron's Folly:
Skill Name: Silver Canister: Iron's Folly
Tier: 4
Type: Offensive
Element: Metal
Effects: By transmuting the cannon and the ammo within, Winter creates something that is basically legitimately a cannon loaded with a cylindrical slug. On the back of the slug is engraves an alchemy circle. Using Fire It Off will cause this to increase the damage of the shot by 110, and also doles out huge punching power, enough so that the cylinder is basically flat against the surface of any metal thicker than a few inches. Once this bullet hits any metal construct within the size of 50 meters in all dimensions, Winter may activate the circle (given he can reach it with at least one finger) and transmute the entire construct into anything he wants it to be, totally annihilating its previous functions. Aesthetically, if he gets this off the metal appears to turn into a room temperature liquid and splashes to the ground before taking whatever shape he chooses, warping and writhing to do so. This metal enhances other spells to have increased size, damage, and endurance if it is used as fuel for a spell. This cannot be used on metals free of impurities such as platinum.
Duration: Instant and Instant
Cooldown: 5 posts

Bullet Mode: Bird Shot:
Skill Name: Bullet Mode: Bird Shot
Tier: 4
Type: Utility
Element: Metal
Effects: Upon activating this mode, Winter's next activation of Fire It Off will fire off 6 small hummingbirds made of metal instead of bullets. These birds are animated to attack and home in on the foe with oddly efficient wings which actually hold them up and let them zip around, moving at 25 m/s as long as they are within 50 meters of him. These birds are not considered alive, and they do damage like a normal shot from Fire it Off. Interestingly, one hit will not make them go away, they can each take 1 tier 3 hit, or 2 tier 2 hits, or 4 tier 1 hits before breaking, and they attack each round they are active, even if they hit the round before. Any attacks they are directly weak to (stated in weaknesses above) will break or disable them in 1 hit, regardless of tier.
