It had been two long since Case had arrived in Central constantly traveling in and out of it since then but always ending back up at the station where he left his childhood friends he had left their orphanage from Xing from and with them took the long way around to get here traveling all over the works before arriving in Amestris Central. He didn't know why but a times he always ended up finding himself lurking the streets of Central City sleeping on the roof tops as if drawn back here like a candle to a flame though like moths he couldn't help but feeling that the flame was going to burn a lot of people in the near future. These thoughts rambled his mind as he continued to walk along the busy streets of Central City walking past the Central Distract Library. The building caught his eye tempting him to go in for even after all the two years he had lurked around Central he had never been in the library or the bank here not wanting to risk losing his father's state alchemist's pocket watch that he was given upon the discovery of his father's dead body in the Xing Dessert along with the pocket note book of his father's research which he destroyed most of the pages after he had learned and memorized the alchemy his father had invented due to his personal vow to never let the military get there hands on this alchemy.
He sighed as he began to walk along now heading toward a tavern he was able to get a room at after doing some repairs for the owner, after a few steps a sharp pain shot through his body originating from his stumps that were left behind from his real arms at his shoulders and in response began to stretch them causing his automail limbs to make a clicking noise and the sound of metal rubbing off another along with a low humming sound coming from his due to his alchemy getting stronger with the increasing water moisture in the air "It really a pain that my stumps act up on rainy days, well I guess that's the price I pay for having arms.... It's kinda sad that my alchemy and by body can never seem to agree on is the weather.... he sighed speaking to himself picking up the pace while looking for cover encase of a down pour started.

"Sickening."

She stood beside the library. She was growing disgusted with the common literature of the new modern world. Everyone seemed so full of themselves. No one seemed to be worth a conversation. And for even her own abuse of knowledge, no one was helping in her own mission.

"Hmph." She looked at a man walking along the sidewalk, both of them savoring the sweet tears of the sky. She paid no mind to the mere changes of a weather. After all, everything was temporary. But this man was most likely just another one of the ever growing population of alchemists. They were no longer few in number. They were the majority, only to be segregated by the sheer power of one's reach and extensive collection of powers.

"You should get inside before you catch a cold." she said to the man. "Unless you're a magician who can change the weather, I'd take my advice."

She stood there, her jacket drenched and her hair strewn over her face. By now, it was raining, but it would make no sense as to why she was completely soaked in water when the rain has just begun.

A voice spoke up to him as he just passed the central library as the rain began to fall "You should get inside before you catch a cold." He turned around to see a tall and beautiful being who stood with a posture that indicated  honor and fortitude, which were words he wouldn't often used to describe someone's appearance.  She wore a black tube top underneath a dark purple trench coat, and black pants. To him her face seemed to be lacking with emotions, giving him a stone cold stare at him in a peculiar manner as if dismantling the world around  Few can see past her facade, and even less see what's on her mind, but none can comprehend it..."Unless you're a magician who can change the weather, I'd take my advice."
Case listened watching her as she stood there, her jacket drenched and her hair strewn over her face though it made no sense as to why she was completely soaked as it just began to rain. Case winced as some of the rain hit shoulders causing him to pull out one of his pain killers from a metal cigar case, he placed one up to hip holding as he snapped his fingers creating a small arc of electricity between his pointer finger and thumb which lasted a few seconds for him to light his pain killer. Breathing in his medication he reached his right hand up as if trying to cup some water before bringing his hands down and looking at the water drip off his metal and carbon based mechanical limbs. "Well making the rain the stop is something I can't do..." Case replied smirking as he looked up "I could however make it rain my increasing the water molecules in the air by applying electrons and protons from the other elements exchanging them to the point the water is mainly thing is in the air. From there I could heat it up through an electric current creating something similar to a warm front and once it meets a body of cold air there is a chance it could produce precipitation hence forth making rain....though that's all is a theory I have yet to practice...though it would be of any use right and even if it was it would most likely take a few days of nonstop work for it to have any effect." Case then noticed a phone booth near by, ran over to it swiping the phone book before running back to the girl and placed his hands together looking as if he was praying before touching the phone book with one of his hands transmuting it into a  style a paper umbrella he hand seen in countries further east then Xing. "I doubt it would help you much now being already soaked and you don't look like the kinda of gal that needs to be escorted back home, but would you like some shelter to get to your next location? Don't worry it ain't a package deal, you don't have to walk with me you can just take it if you want."

She would look at the man with her eyes fond of his power. It was no surprise to see he was an alchemist, as the world was changing eras. He seemed like one of the good hearted ones, the few that cared for others. Staying with him for a while would bring her no harm, but no help as well. But after all, she had nothing to lose.

She would take a step towards him, accompanied with a half turn, "Where to?" she would ask, "For my home is in my heart." she would give a smile, as if it was something she loved to be true. However, in honesty, she knew it was the very thing she hated. Her home was far from there. She was from an unnamed village deep within further unknown lands. She knew unclaimed lands better than the rest of the world, and it was not by choice.

Whoever this man was, he would be able to ease the pain of solitude, even for just a moment. Even if he was no help to the answer of her parents, he would be the answer to alchemy.

She would give out a small giggle, as if her situation was amusing. To the world, it was nothing more than a man escorting a lost woman to her home or elsewhere. But she knew what the event meant. If he found it reasonable to play with all your cards out, so be it. But she was not one to play with a full hand.

"It's not every day you meet an alchemist." she would tell him, "Everyone in this world seems to be weak and powerless... boring, if you will."

And so she would stand beside him, under the cover of the paper umbrella.

The Meeting of Two Loners [Social/Private][Synthesis] Empty Re: The Meeting of Two Loners [Social/Private][Synthesis]

Case saw that girl began look at him with a sort of fondness after seeing he was an alchemist, he watched as she took a step towards him accompanied with a half turn as she spoke up "Where to? For my home is in my heart." she asked giving him a smile at the same time. Case thought for a moment with his rolled up pain killers still burning away making him smell like a the smell of a high quality Xingese dish that used plenty of herbs and spices "Well I am heading to the book shop near a tavern I'll rent a room since sleeping on a rooftop is out of the question."
Once he was done speaking the girl let out a small giggle, as if something about their current situation was amusing. "What's so funny?" Case asked curious about her laughing to be responded as if was never heard it before though in reality it had been a few years since he heard some one older then eight years old laugh."It's not every day you meet an alchemist. Everyone in this world seems to be weak and powerless... boring, if you will." she told him under the cover of the paper umbrella, Case fell silent thinking of his response to the girls state meant "Well it's not everyday people begin to freak out trying to figure out how I preform a transmutation without the use of a transmutation circle." Case found the girl's giggle contagious as he ended up chuckling himself before he continued "As for everyone in the world seeming to be weak, powerless and boring I believe that comes down to the amount you know about the person. For example a the best body builder of his profession with a basic stone transmutation circle tattooed on his fists may instantly look like a threat but in reality doesn't know the first thing about fighting or alchemy, while in comparison a frail old blind old man may look weak but upon starting a fight with him you could find out he is first rank alchemist or swordsman on a caliber equal to the Blind Samurai from the eastern legends. Knowledge is the greatest form of power one can have after all humans and alchemists are constantly searching for the one truth, so to me people only become boring if I know everything about them and since people are constantly thinking I don't know what they are thinking I'm only able to predict it...that's how I keep myself from getting board and from underestimating my foes..." Case sighed as he came to a stop in front of a small book shop which was hardly visible to see into as the windows were dirty being covered in dust with dusty books on display. "Sorry I tend to ramble with people I take a liking to...my apologies I travel alone so most of the time I end up talking to myself."

He was a man of story, someone who knew their share of tales. She would expect nothing less from an alchemist who was at a lost for limbs. To anyone who had lost something, she knew that their words was a canvas for their wounds to be used for paint to create something... different.

"Don't ever apologize for something." she'd follow him, stopping when he stopped. "Don't create regret for something you wanted. Just moments ago, your words were selected for a reason." she'd give a small smile, as if to comfort the man. There was much behind her own mask of emotion that she was one to careful and tactical in keeping locked away. "Everyone has something to chase after." she would tell the man, "When we stop running after our dreams... we give up. And when we give up, we die."

She'd take the moment to look around and keep her eyes off the man for a moment. For now, she wanted to see her surroundings. It was one of the few times that she wasn't buried behind a wall of books and scrolls. But today, was for a change.

"Don't ever apologize for something." The girl had told him as she follow him, stopping only when he stopped, her response generally shocked Case he had never gotten an response like that before from anyone he had ever talked with, he ended up looking at the girl in awe she continued to speak "Don't create regret for something you wanted. Just moments ago, your words were selected for a reason." when she has finished speaking she gave him a small smile, as if she was trying to reassure or comfort him. "Everyone has something to chase after. When we stop running after our dreams... we give up. And when we give up, we die."
Case began to laugh softly once the girl had finished speaking, once he stopped he took a breath before smiling back "Sorry didn't mean to be rude you're absolutely right I just never met someone as blunt as me to just go out and say it though it would could have been much harsher coming from me. Truth be told though I don't regret the words I said to you and I don't believe I have regretted saying anything...*mumbles* but apart from him *mumbles* Case's expression turned from a small smile to deep in thought in a matter of seconds as he began to mumble to himself but he quickly snapped out of it and his face returned to a smile "Also in regard to my dreams...I guess the dream I have is to actually have a dream...for right now I have only goals and a promise self made vow to get me through day to day life."
His smile became a small melancholy grin as he said those words aloud before noticing that the girl was looking around the surroundings "Hey you don't need to come in with me it souls be a quick pop in and out, I know the shop keeper and she tends out books that fall in with my research off to the side for me." he told her handing her the paper umbrella as he took the stump of what was left of his rolled up pain killers and held the burning but out in the rain where it where it was out out by the falling drops of water. He tossed the but into a trash can a few feet away from them before pushing on the door gently turning back to look at the girl "Have you ever heard of the psychology theory known as the Persona Theory. In a nutshell we basically all have personas that we put on like masks when interacting with different society to fit in, over come hard ships while rejecting out shadows the part of us we don't want to admit that exists......I think you and I have a similar mask that we ware to hide out me face from the world...." He then gave another faint smile before walking into the shop causing a bell to chime.

MAKING A STAND
"YOU WOULDN'T KNOW INSANE IF IT HIT YOU IN THE FACE."

"A fool."

She pressed her back against the wall of the shop to ponder his words. He seemed like one to run his mouth, but he was no doubt smarter than most people. Whatever knowledge he contained, she wanted to take a peak at. But she couldn't help but grow irritated at his belief that he knew anything about her. He was someone of arrogance, full of hearing his own voice. Possibly someone too wise for his own good. But she held his paper umbrella, wondering about the science behind certain things.

She wondered why the feeling in her back continued to grow in intensity. She knew what possibly remained on her back, but she decided to look away from it. It was no doubt a gift from someone, but from who, was the question. She was an alchemist by birth, not by choice. She would try to collect her memories to place them in a linear fashion within her own thoughts. She had to figure out who she was, why she was, and then she could find the answers about the world around her later.

She held the fear that the man she murdered so long ago was her father. She did not fear that it was her hand that killed him, she feared that she would become just like him... an empty shell. She feared she would lose herself in the world and give it all up for nothing. She feared being forgotten. She wanted to live as long as it took to leave a legacy. She would find her father, whoever he is.

But the rain began to downpour, bouncing off the top of her paper tool. She would remain outside as the man ventured in. Chisu would think about the possible places to stay the night, but a hotel seemed like the only viable option.

As Case opened the door the first thing he was greeted with apart from a cloud of dust was the yelling if a rather elderly sounding lady and the sound of books tumbling of their selves. Seeing the fallen over pile once the dust cloud cleared he walk over and began to quickly remove the books in a heap, stacking them against the wall beside him revealing a small old lady with glasses and a cane the size of her body "Hi Granny Konko." Case said smiling before getting whacked on with the old lady's cane after she got up and began to help Case pick up the books "You're an idiot if you can't read the sign saying that we're closed." Case laughed sounding guilty "Yea well I thought I might be an exception seeing how I practically to your grandniece and nephew." Case laughed until he was hit in the shin with the Cane "As far as I know that rascal or you are not my family and I hope to god you never will be your nothing but bad luck." Case sighed before picking up a pile and quickly put them away as Konko made her way over to the counter and hopped onto the stool in a single hop before pulling out a large brown leather sack "I guess you want me to put this on you're tab that will drive me to bankruptcy since you're probably broke."
Case sighed and took out a golden medallion with Xingise scripture on it and placed it on the counter before picking up the bag "Give me some credit Konko, I always pay my tab even if I am a few months over due. Just sell that to a museum or pawn shop they will pay big money for that." Case watched as Konko sighed pocketing the medallion as Case turned around to exit she spoke up "How are my Grandniece and the rascal?" Case's expression darkened with sorrow not looking back "I don't know it's been two years since I heard from them."

Case exited the shop looking as if he was void of all emotion as he carried the large sack if books on his shoulder was expecting the rain to begin to soak him to the bone when he the girl still there holding the umbrella "Oh you're still here, I thought you would have left." Case commented as he slowly walked to the inn at a pace at which the girl could still walk next to him.

"Perhaps I should."

She would turn from the man to head into an adjacent alleyway. She had wanted to spend time with the man and to pick his brain for answers. However hearing the vibrations of a conversation only meant he had secrets to hide. While she hated liars, she hated alternate lives even more.

She would disappear, running into the darkness never to resurface again. She would find her answers elsewhere.
