Cannon Alchemy

Cannon Alchemy 35ajimo

Alchemy Name: Cannon Alchemy
Dependant or Independant: Dependant
Description: Cannon Alchemy is a deceptively simple methodology of the alchemical process which entails the use of a similarly deceptively simple tool, custom designed himself. Through the use of a specially designed weapon, which has the uncanny resemblance to a revolver handgun, albeit rather large, he uses specially designed cylinders of various metal, usually iron although the actual material itself doesn't matter, and he breaks off rods of it at a time and fires them at the same time as shaping them in order to launch projectiles with immense heft in comparison to normal bullets. The result is single shots from this 'gun' which can blow through walls, tanks, and most certainly people.

How this is achieved is actually inherent in the design of the weapon itself. By removing the hammer and making the usual inner workings more minimalistic since all that needs to happen is the revolver clip revolves, he has crafted a weapon of metal which forgoes complexity of guns and has absolutely no chance of failing in its job, and has also made it a capable weapon for other alchemists should they choose to practice a little bit. By carving a tiny alchemical circle into the area where the hammer would usually be (design as seen above), one fires the 'gun' by simply setting any finger (generally the thumb of the hand holding the gun) on the circle and activating the alchemical process. In doing this, he has made it so that non-alchemists cannot hope to use the weapon, and with some practice any alchemist could perfectly use this weapon. But they'll never be as specialized as he is.

Firing highly heft bolts of metals isn't all this is about, the entirety of the gun can be used as a weapon in his hands. While most people would focus on the ammunition source, that being the metal cylinders mentioned above, few recognize that the whole weapon is made of metal. By altering the shape of the cannon, he can easily convert what was once a ranged weapon, into a deadly sword or a tool he may happen to need. That is because in the end, Cannon Alchemy is about using metal and the cannon as a weapon for combat purposes. The only real constant in the weapon is that it retains the pistol grip when it transforms so that he can transmute his Cannon and metals in contact with it with as subtle a gesture as moving his thumb.

He is known for easily disarming foes simply by turning all the metal parts of their weapon into extra ammunition for himself in a swift motion, and is somewhat renown for his exploits of bypassing metal armor with ease. The final trick up his sleeve is the fact that his Alchemy (yet again) about the manipulation of metals, so when someone has finally managed to rid him of that annoying cannon he's so proud of, he is more than capable of transmuting another on out of local materials. He has the weapon's schematics memorized to the point that he can make one of any size from many amount of metal and use it proficiently. He can also alter the shape so that he can fire bigger, thinner, or otherwise differently shaped projectiles, for purposes ranging from conserving ammo, to taking out gigantic structures.

Strengths:

  1. Lay Down Thy Arms: This method of alchemy actually focuses strongly on disarming foes of their weapons and using the metal from those weapons against them and their allies.
  2. Ranged: Cannon Alchemy is inherently long-ranged, albeit in a straight line.
  3. Shockingly Well Armed: He can convert metal and his cannon into a shockingly wide array of weaponry ranging from swords and blades to other kinds of guns. In a contest of who is better armed, he's pretty well off.
  4. Freeformity: It's early-tier things, which are important to the Alchemy's style, have little to no cooldown, which makes this a very freeform style of alchemy.

Weakness:

  1. How Do Magnets Work: A strong enough magnetic field will make his alchemy rather useless since he manipulates metal. Metal is usually magnetic, so this constitutes a viable crippling problem for him.
  2. No Metal? Crap...: There is no better way to screw Winter over than to just remove all metal from the area.
  3. Pure Shittiness: This alchemy uses the impurities inherent metal to manipulate it. Totally pure metals, such as Platinum are out of his range. On the flip side, alloys are all fucked.
  4. Shocking, Isn't It?: This alchemy has it so the user is almost always in contact with a lightning rod. Do the math for that one, hmm?
  5. Hothothothothot!!!: Metal is conductive, so hot things like lava and fire may cause his cannon to become more a hindrance than a help. If left out in the sun too long he has to wait for the cannon to cool off.

Abilities:

  • Metal Mastery: He can manipulate any solid metal that has impurities with his alchemy, making just about any metal item short of ridiculously expensive ones made of platinum viable material for his alchemy. Thusly his Alchemy Trumps most other forms of Metal Alchemy.
  • Guns Mastery: This alchemy requires if nothing else, precision and accuracy. While he's no expert in 'firearms' themselves, he is fairly handy with a gun if given one. Not quite on par with a normal who's specialized skillset revolves around firearms, but better than another state alchemist would be.
